Nascar The IMAX EXPERIENCE

This movie starts with a fictional car chase between a rum runner or bootlegger and Cops.Which shows you the very roots of nascar. Nascar started with bootleggers with souped up cars wanting to race other bootleggers. Nascar means North America Stock Car Auto Racing. which was formed in a Hotel room with 12 people in Daytona beach the first race was the Daytona 500 which was run half on beach and half on the highway A1A which is the highway that runs the beach. Lee Petty won the first one. After that the Daytona National Speedway was built. This movie takes you through everything with Nascar. The Cars are built in there team shops by very techinal specs that Nascar makes them go by everything is messured to the milimeter like the high length and with of the car. The movie goes through the drivers what they are thinking while in the car and what there families are thinking while they are driving. What the pitt crews go through training and during a race day where they could very easily win or lose a race. Very good format in this movie i wish i could of seen it in a real IMAX Theater because the graphics where good and the picture was good on my computer would of loved to see it on the big screen of an IMAX theater. It is just a very detailed feature on how nascar isn't just a bunch rednecks getting in cars and how much money it takes to really run a team. There is a lot of 1st person shots with the drivers in the cars with cameras on there helmets or right next to them to get a good chance of seeing what they see at those huge speeds..

Major League

Movie is about the Cleveland Indians baseball team that has really struggled over a long period of time and there owner dies and his showgirl wife takes over team. She wants to make the team so bad she can get out of lease with city and move team to Miami. She tries to put together a really bad team to lose. Well they start off really bad and look like they cant get out of there own way. About mid season they learn of what the owner wanted to do and they Start playing really well and get to the playoffs by beating the hated Yankees in a play in game to get to the playoffs. The Characters played really well off each other Bob Uecker does a great job as the announcer which he really does do baseball on radio for the Brewers and you can see he loves doing it. Charlie Sheen is a brash young pitcher who has been in trouble his whole life and has a lighting arm just no control at start till he gets glasses and blows people away his nickname is the wild thing. it is just an entertaining movie with great one liners. they actually shot the movie in Milwaukee at old county stadium instead of at Cleveland stadium. I really recommend this movie to sports fans and non sports fans it is a classic.

Seven Pounds

The Movie is about a man named Tim Thomas (Will Smith) who steals his brothers IRS id to help people with different things he is a Aero Space engineer who causes a Car Crash which his fiance dies in with 6 other people. He gets people from the IRS audits who have medical conditions.
To help he has already given his brother and a woman who works in social services a Lung and a Part of his liver. Well he wants to help 7 people before he dies he helps a battered woman by giving his beach house to her and her 3 kids. He falls in love with a woman who needs a new heart and talks to a blind man and scouts them to make sure they are good people. He sees a kid who is bald who has cancer and gives the kid Bone marrow. Then he actually kills himself by icing down a bathtub and actually using a box jelly fish to kill himself. And the Blind man gets his eyes, the girl gets his heart. A very power full performance by Will Smith and a great writing job it is beyond me how the movie did not at least get an Oscar nomination.
