Glory Road

True Story of Don Haskins who takes a job at Texas Western University in 1966 and with his first recruiting class recruits 7 African American players. The players come from all over the country and it is hard for them in the south which they still face civil rights and prejudges. Don Haskins takes a team of 7 black kids and 5 white kids and leads them to a 1 loss season through all the problems the kids faced they didn't give up on the coach and the coach didn't give up on them. The team faces mighty Kansas in the final 4 the biggest stage in college basketball and beats them in overtime which had a colored star in Jo Jo White who steps out of bounds on a shot in double OT.... Then they face the all white Kentucky team who is lead by the legendary Adolph Rupp with all American Pat Riley and Louie Dampier on it and Haskins makes a bold move by only playing the 7 black players in the title game against Kentucky. The Texas Western University Miners 72 Kentucky Wildcats 68 the final score. Allot of long shots with dialogue and emotional speeches the movie was authentic to the time and very well done.
